Healing Through Justice

The road to recovery after a serious injury is long and arduous. Physical and emotional healing takes time. The pursuit of justice can be a valuable part of the healing process.

Catastrophic injury lawyers are called upon after a tragedy shakes the very foundation of a person’s life.  It can happen on a Monday morning. It can happen on a Saturday evening. It can happen on Christmas Eve. It is almost always unexpected, and it is some degree of terrible.  It is within those very dark days that we meet our clients as a broken version of themselves.

The road to recovery after a serious injury or the death of a loved one is long and arduous. Physical and emotional healing takes time.  The healing process is complicated when a tragedy is caused by preventable negligence and exacerbated by an insurance company that values profits over public safety.  An injured person that pursues accountability must heal while simultaneously participating in an adversarial process that is seemingly unnatural to the way in which we grieve and heal as human beings.

The pursuit of justice can be a valuable part of the healing process.  Like painful medical procedures and strenuous therapy, restorative justice is not always easy.   But the journey of justice can facilitate healing in many ways.

·       Healing through the ultimate payment of medical, wage, etc. expenses.

·       Healing through regaining a sense of control.

·       Healing through the process of being heard and acknowledged by others.

·       Healing through a renewed faith in institutions (i.e. the justice system).

·       Healing through a renewed faith in individual people helping people.

I believe that my ultimate purpose as an injury lawyer is to help my clients heal through the pursuit of justice.  I strive to be both a skillful advocate and a thoughtful counselor for the clients I serve.  It is my hope that at the end of a case, my clients have found some measure of healing and closure through their pursuit of justice.

If you or a loved one have been seriously injured and would like to discuss how you might go about pursuing justice, please feel free to reach out.
